Netherlands stocks higher at close of trade; AEX up 0.38%
Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil&Gas, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which rose 2.57% or 0.89 points to trade at 35.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) added 2.15% or 0.71 points to end at 33.74 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was up 2.13% or 0.161 points to 7.715 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KPN Kon (AS:KPN), which fell 1.85% or 0.053 points to trade at 2.808 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 1.01% or 0.20 points to end at 19.59 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was down 0.97% or 0.18 points to 18.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 83 to 42 and 16 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.84% to 14.27.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 3.17% or 1.61 to $52.43 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 3.21% or 1.72 to hit $55.36 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1185.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.0531, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8664.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 102.17.
